| SEHDR was formed because we saw a need for the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of herding breeds. We are located in Columbia SC. We specialize in Shelties and Collies, but we accept many other breeds into our program, including, but not limited to Corgis, English Shepherds, Australian Shepherds and more. On occasion we also take in herding dog mixes. We understand that because these dogs are herding/working dogs they like to have "jobs". Because of this we train our rescued dogs in agility, carting, and obedience if they seem like good candidates. Many of our adopted dogs are now therapy and agility dogs. We are not a shelter. All of our dogs live indoors in a private family home where they receive love, training, and excellent care. We do not have a shelter or outdoor kennels. We are strictly no-kill. Our dogs are adopted by families in the Southeast and occasionally from longer distances. Go to the links above to learn more. If you decide the dog is not right for you and your home, you are welcome to bring him back unharmed within 30 days of the adoption for a full refund of the adoption fee. You are also welcome to bring the dog back if at any point in time you don't want to, or cannot, keep it. You can read more about this on the page titled "Adopting a Dog".
